When our bride Sonia first came to us at Alexia’s she was feeling torn and flustered as she was trying to achieve both “white wedding” and Indian traditional with a twist. With a fiancé who is Ukrainian-American and a bride who is Indian-American, finding the perfect balance was proving to be a challenge. Well, we love a challenge!
Sonia went from torn to in love in only three gowns. When we dressed her in “Alice” by Vera Wang she knew it was the perfect gown – it even had the touch of nonconformity she identifies with being born and raised in New York City. Pour the Champagne! Celebration was needed! There really is nothing quite like the glow of a bride who knows she’s found “The One.”
Sonia has since told us that our girls immediately made her feel comfortable and secure. Unfortunately Sonia’s mother could not be there physically, so we used Face-Time to keep her there in spirit throughout the appointment.
Sonia was consistently sweet and wonderful to work with from day one. She has expressed that this was an amazing journey for her, even through the fitting process, which she described as being light and comfortable with consultants and a seamstress who were “superstars,” continuously making her feel confident in her choice! We feel honored to have been able to watch this dress transform into the perfect fit and look for Sonia on her special day.
When she dressed herself in her stunning gown on June 8, 2014, Sonia truly felt ready for the wedding and for her future marriage. She was completely comfortable in the gown the entire day, from ceremony and portraits to her lively reception, all the while receiving endless compliments, as she deserved to!
Having a bride who is so blissful, sweet, and excited for her marriage and future is an absolutely amazing experience. Thank you, Sonia! We are so truly happy to have helped you find your dream gown… you looked perfect!
